Don O. Ogu, M.D. is a Co-founder/Principal and Medical Director of SleepMedix, Nigeria Limited. Dr. Ogu is also the founder and president of First Foundation Medical Clinic in Lincolnton, North Carolina as well as Union Medical Clinic in Gastonia, North Carolina USA. Both clinics specialize in the care of patients with various types of cardiovascular diseases including but not limited to Hypertension, Congestive Heart Failure, Ischemic Heart Disease, Cerebrovascular Accidents (stroke), lung diseases such as Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. The clinics also specialize in kidney and liver diseases, most forms of arthritis, diseases of the prostate as well as sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea. Dr. Ogu has a special interest in the management of Diabetes Mellitus and its complications.

As a practicing Internist in the United States, Dr. Ogu cares for patients with the above listed ailments and more on a daily basis, both in the outpatient setting as well as in the hospital. He currently has admitting privileges at the Gaston Memorial Hospital and Carolina Medical Center Lincoln, which is a part of the Carolina Health Care System—the third largest hospital system in the United States. Dr. Ogu has over seventeen years experience in clinical medical practice.

Dr. Ogu attended high school at Government College Umuahia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. He completed his medical degree in the Dominican Republic before proceeding to the United States where he did his internship and residency training in internal medicine at the New York Methodist Hospital. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the North Carolina Medical Society.
